Wax-Nest

Ok so two posts in one day, yep I am wild and crazy. I couldn't help but share this one and figured I best do it before I forget.

Last night I headed out from work and decided to pop in to the salon at the bottom of the hill from my office for a quick brow\lip wax. I had been there a few times with positive results. After waiting a mere five minutes I was taken out back by a new technician. She was done quickly and aside from the wax being a tad too hot when she got to the lip area all was good after a quick glance in the handheld mirror. I unfortunately spoke too soon. I was fiddling with my bag attempting to dislodge my sunglasses all while navigating around Prospect Hill onto 128 when I felt something sticky on my neck. Well sure enough after a quick reach around I found a rather large clump of still warm sticky wax in the underneath of my hair. Did I mention I was heading to the South Shore to meet my friend and her mom for dinner and baby shower accessory shopping. As I drove I realized I was not going to have any success while driving removing the sticky nasty rats nest that was growing larger with every motion. I did the only thing I could , I went for containment. I grabbed an elastic and twisted it around the clumpy mess walling it off from the rest of my coif. So as I entered dinner at Rick's Cafe I sported a 1980's side tail\braid thing (that luckily could be somewhat shielded) rather than a Something About Mary Cameran Diaz-esque crazy do.

I am happy to report that a little olive oil several hours later removed the offending wax-nest.

A triumphant return

ok well maybe not so triumphant but a return nonetheless. I am committing to return to blogging more than once every six months.

This will be a slow ramp up. So for today I leave you with two little nuggets:

Overheard in my bedroom last night. "New rule, if you try and lay your big mellon on my squishy pillow one more time in the middle of the night I have full license to punch you in the nose". Romantic no? I thought so to. There is nothing quite like the loving sentiments shared between newlyweds. Have I ever mentioned I am not very nice when my sleep is disturbed. My husband is one lucky fool to have landed this prize philly.

A new fave: ChristianDiorShow mascara. I fell in love with this mascara after getting a free sample for donating the monetary value of my kidney to Sephora a few months ago. I loved it and purchased my very own big girl tube at Nordtroms (along with some stellar hair clips left for another discussion). What I love about this mascara it not only the quality and depth of its blackness it is the fact that for some reason I cannot stop myself from singing the following lyrics from Kanye West's Stronger each and every time I apply it:

Awesome, the christian and and kristen dior
Damn they don't make 'em like this anymore
I ask, cause i'm not sure
Do anybody make real shit anymore?
Bow in the presence of greatness...
