Ever have one of those days that you are all across the board? That about sums me up today. I awoke from a disjointed night's sleep with multiple puppy potty visits. The hubby and I are going to have to converse about the policy of taking turns. I was determined to start the day off right. I scooped up the pup, hurried down the stairs, ran outside(barefoot) so he could relieve himself all trying to make a 5:30am class at the gym. And wouldn't you know it he peed on my bare foot, gross! I cleaned up and made it to the gym and had a decent workout. Good deal. I wanted to make it in early to work and I was on track. I pulled in the drive to find hubby had actually gotten up and the dogs were outside -- Score!! I took a look at my phone and my mood sunk immediately. Crisis at work that took me two hours to fix. I notified everyone I would be arriving late because at this point a shower had not been taken. I will say as a plus is driving to work outside the 6am-9am window that is normally like a mass exxodus to hell. I zipped in in under 30 minutes and was immediately slammed by my VP. I owed him a report by today and he was looking for it and no it was not finished. You see he comes in generally by 11, I am in by 8 so I had planned to give myself those three hours to polish it up prior to sending off at 10:45. Shame on me for procrastinating. I finished it by 12:30 and sent it off.
I was having difficulty refocusing so I decided around 1:45 to hop in my Chevette, roll the top down and skoot to Costco (the land of large quantities of things I really don't need). Also, I don't own a Chevette, nor anything that had a top that can be put down -- I just always wanted to say that. I left Cosco with a Lion's sized box of Cat Chow, a Kenneth Cole black down vest, and a set of 600 Count Chocolate Brown sheets (for the new bed) but I was still feeling blah. I slicked on some Loreal HIP Dreamer lip gloss and felt a surge of happiness. It is amazing what a little gloss will do. I then popped on my new sunglasses purchased for me by my sister and all felt right in the world. So much so I pulled through the parking lot and a lovely woman let me go. I gave her a hearty wave and mouthed thank you as I pulled past her car. I decided to offer the same courtesy to a person who was attempting to pull in front of me. I gave her a nod as a gesture allowing her to proceed and all I got was a passive limp fish wave back...hmmmm damm Massachusetts drivers. Oh well thank god for lipgloss and cool shades.

A Good Nights Sleep
What a difference a good nights sleep makes. We bought a new mattress this weekend. I cannot type the word "mattress" without playing the Mattress Disccounters commercial complete with the "leave the last s off for savings" every time (which means I have recited it three times in the last 15 seconds). I am now the proud owner of a brandy new King sized bed and it is heaven. We hit up Sleepy's in Plainville on Saturday for a test run, after enjoying a lunch of salads and beer over at Chilli's. The had us input some statistics and then lay on a bed that was hooked up to a computer. It spit out our sleep profile. The hubby and I fell into the same range as we are fairly close in size. I am a bit taller he is a bit heavier. After many a test run we decided on a Kingsdown cloud inner spring and it was delivered last night. The first thing I did was jump on it and do a bed angel given its enormity. I loaded up the bed with all the new bedding I purchased earlier (we upgraded from a queen so new linens we In order)in the day fresh from the dryer and then curled up with dogs and a my book. I had to peel myself out of that bed this morning to hit the gym and go to work. I am looking forward to climbing back in tonight for some free form lounge reading.
I am going to try to make an effort to post more often as I did before. Lately work and life have been consuming. Here is the latest state of the state to get everyone caught up in a quick minute:

I am going to try to make an effort to post more often as I did before. Lately work and life have been consuming. Here is the latest state of the state to get everyone caught up in a quick minute:
- Two deaths since Christmas. One a relative and one a close friend's aunt. I have had enough with death in the past year so that is all I will say.
- New dog in da house!! I have been up to my eyeballs in puppy craziness the last month.
- I am slowing making my way back to a regular gym routine and healthy eating and it has been slow going but I am going. Recently toying with joining Weight Watchers...Hello my name is Elsie and I am a food addict (she imagines in her head)
- 6 of my girlfriend's are currently pregnant Yes six!! Deliveries begin in February and continue on through September of next year. This has caused me to double up on my birth control.
- Lots of football watching, football recap, Tom Brady exposes. I like the Patriots but I cannot wait for the season to be over.
- Fixed up a mutual guy friend of couple of weeks ago, watching to see how that love match pans out.
- Gotten in to a much better routing cleaning the house. Attempting as a NYR to actually clean the dishes after dinner before going to bed. This has helped to greatly improve my mood.
- Hubby is obsessed with TV Show Rescue Me. He has rented all the previous seasons from Netflix and that has pretty much consumed most of our joint viewing time for the past month.
- I am obsessed with the Biggest Loser. Go team blue!!
- Had date night last week to see 27 Dresses. Which way does your moral compass point?? Loved it!! I am a chick flick addict.
- also saw No Country for Old Men last week. I wasn't completely impressed. This may or may not be due to the full carafe of Sangria I drank beforehand at a lovely Mexican dinner. I think I may have dozed off a few times contributing to my indifference to the movie and its ending.
- Had dinner at a lovely new place called Restaurant 3 in Franklin to celebrate my friend's graduation. (too lazy to post a link) Food was yummy as was the wine :)
- Hiking for a couple of hours with pooches over the weekend, lots of fun.
- New Bed Purchased.
What time is it? Right Now.
What are you? This moment.
Now we are all caught up.

Frightful Friday Outfits from the past......
For some reason driving to work today I started to think about cringe worthy outfits of my past. Boy there were quite a few. Considering my blogging prowess has been hibernating much like I feel like doing during the winter. I am going to throw out Frightful Friday Outfits as my topic for today. I have seen other extremely creative bloggers toss out challenges to create a chic ensamble on a budget. Well here is my contribution for the day. Feel free to join in the fun.
Below find my ghastly outfit circa 1995. I will add I wore this to go clubbing in the Alley in Boston to a club whose name now escapes me (because I am old). I was sporting the wannabe Friends "Rachel Do" that I ofcourse added my own spin to which I dubbed the wing. I would hold out the temple of my hair with hair brush, generously spray aquanet and then blow dry to add side volume. It was a sight to behold topped off with dark brown lipstick to compliment my pale Irish skin.
Material certainly not found in nature, stretchy turtleneck:

Covered by and oversized denim men's oxford. Generally Polo because that is how I rolled. Three buttons undone so you could see the striped splendor beneath.

Wowsers!! I was above and beyond tacky.
I hope everyone has a good weekend on tap.

Again material not found in nature black stretch stirup pants.
Tucked into shoe boots, although mine were slightly taller with the metal granny hook to tie up the two laces because the buckle just wasn't enough.

Wowsers!! I was above and beyond tacky.
I hope everyone has a good weekend on tap.
